What BloomNews will put under a headline, and what it will not.

Reported news

BloomNews publishes reported news. It does not publish opinion columns, editorials, or reviews presented as news. A minister’s claim is reported as that person’s claim. A company’s account of its own product is reported as the company’s account.

Sources

Every story is checked against named sources, and those sources are listed on the story. Figures, quotes and dates in the copy come from those sources. If two accounts do not match, the story says so instead of picking a number and smoothing it over. A fact that is not in the sources does not go in the story.

The desk does not describe a funding round, a listing or a product as a success or a failure beyond what the record shows. Readers can follow the links and read the same material.

Not investment advice

Stories about funding, valuations, listings and share prices are news. They are not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, and they are not a recommendation to invest in any company. BloomNews does not give investment advice.

Video and AI presenters

When BloomNews publishes video, presenters made with AI are labelled as AI presenters on the video and on the page. An AI presenter is not a reporter, and is not a person who witnessed the events. A human byline is a person or the desk. Those two things are not mixed.

Images

Every picture has a credit and a description. If the desk makes a typographic card instead of using a photograph, the credit says so. Photographs are used only when BloomNews has the right to use them.

Advertising

A company does not pay for a news story. An announcement, a round or a listing is not an advertisement, and an advertisement is not published as a story.

Corrections

If a story is wrong, write to bloomnewshq@gmail.com with the link and what needs to change. The desk will correct the page and set the updated time on the story when the correction is a change to the published record.
